So oversold and unorganized - Don’t waste your $$$
We traveled from out of town to enjoy what sounded like a fun day outdoors - watching golf, throwing a few back, and sampling some Phoenix eats. What we found was an event that was so oversold - we had to walk for over an hour to even enter the event. We thought the line was maybe just backed up from security... WRONG! It was shoulder to shoulder people from where our Lyft dropped is off until we finally found a small square of grass to sit down. Extremely long lines for food, drink, and bathroom. Not nearly enough port-a-potties, no organization of food or beer lines, not enough people selling wrist bands for booze. I understand waiting in line at big events but this was on another level. Way too many people in the space and all I kept thinking was how would we get out of there alive if something scary happened.
Bottom line- wouldn’t waste my money again. Definitely need to cap ticket sales for Saturdays in the future.... it shouldn’t just be about how much money they can make - the sponsors need to consider the fan experience as well!!
WMO
Keeping it short and simple... overall, the event is a must go to event even if you’re not the biggest golf fan. It’s just fun.
Three things I’d recommend if you don’t like the big crowd go earlier in the week ie friday, come early Saturday morning or later in the afternoon. I’d say Sunday but the SB will usually be on.
The only real downfalls I had were these. It’s called the WMO the greenest show on grass but there was trash everywhere. I was at 16 and there was cans littering the stands, not enough trash receptacles. The next thing is that there doesn’t seem to be enough bathroom for anyone. I witnessed a guy pee in a beer can because the lines were too long.
